While driving in the car with my family listening to the song below (it is a favorite of our family) I turned to Russ and had the following conversation:
Debbie: Do you know what this song makes me wish?
Russ: That I knew how to play the guitar?
Debbie: Well, now that you mention it, yes. But, what I was going to say is that it makes me wish I could whistle...and that we were riding horses. (Russ is a crazy good whistler and I can bareley make a sound let alone hit the right note)
It also make me wish that we were listening to this (below) version, because it is so. dang. sweet. Seriously, I get goose bumps every time.
And I guess they were on Ellen, watch it here.
side note: while I was putting this post together Gracie sat on my lap listening to the different versions of the song, singing along and snuggling with me. It was awesome. And when we sang along to the line "there aint' nuthin' that I need" I got a pretty big lump in my throat, cause it is true and that feels so good.
Also when we were watching the Ellen version and Ellen came on screen Gracie said, "is that her Grandma?" Looks like the plastic surgery didn't fool Gracie. To hear more of my thoughts on beauty (inner and outer) go the the lovely (seriously so beautiful inside and out) Reachel's Cardigan Empire where I did a guest post today!
Everyone should be able to experience singing in your car with your family!
