April Randoms

This is how I put Louise to sleep it's the best.

One day I was trying to get some laundry folded and this teething baby was being so fussy I decided to give her a bottle of cold water and she loved chewing on it, at least for little while. Too bad I didn't end up getting laundry done because I took pictures of her instead.

I couldn't believe when I walked into the family room and saw this. She never falls asleep out of the blue on someone's lap.

Russ was making me and Gracie laugh at lunch one day when he was trying to get a peek at Louise's teeth coming in.

I had to laugh as I was walking through the house picking stuff up and I saw the man from operation tucked nicely and Gracies bed.

We are so glad when daddy comes home.

Getting the house ready

In April we solidify our decision to try and sell our house. We called our realtors have who helped us by our home and they came over and help us make a list of all the things we need to get done. Let's just say it was a pretty extensive list and we got to work. While working we found some funny things like this writing on our windowsill that Gracie had done who knows when.

What it says is "house of Lou Lou, Joe Joe, Gracie, mom, dad". William is not included in this, I don't know if that's on purpose or not.

This one says "no robbers allowed". I'm so glad we got this protecting us.

One of the things we needed to do was paint the house. This is something that we wanted to do since we moved in but put it off because we thought it will cost a lot of money. It turns out it actually wasn't all that much. Renting a paint sprayer was fairly inexpensive the highest cost was that paint. It took a lot of prep work taping and such but it was worth it, the house looks great. We really wish we had done it sooner.

I worked really hard for we get the house ready by decluttering every room in the house. This was quite a task. Russ had a Saturday off so we chose that Saturday to have a yard sale. We sold quite a bit of stuff. It was freezing that day. It started to sprinkle around noon and we knew it was going to rain so we loaded everything up really quick and took it to be. It was hard for me there was a lot of things I had collected over the years of thrift store shopping. That I've been loaded things up I just went inside ate some chips and salsa and told myself "it was just stuff it didn't matter".
Next we got the pool resurfaced. This is the priciest thing we had to do, but it really needed to be done. They came one day with jackhammers and this is what it looks like when they were done. Became the next day and resurfaced it all pretty and smooth.

Lou has been sort of a clingy baby. She was hardly ever taking naps during this time. And if she did they were very short. I had a hard time getting anything done so when they finally tied her to my chest and that's how I got to work.

I had a lot of stress during this time and I think it was because the house mostly looked like this. It seem to matter how hard I try to keep it clean it just got worse and worse. Looking back I realize that's because I had so many good projects I was doing that I hardly had time to focus on the everyday tasks. And I also have a baby.

I will also we did not get a dog, that is for the dog we were dog sitting.

6 months Lou

I woke up on April 24th and realized my little Lou was 6 months old and so even though I had a list a mile long to get the house ready I decided to dress her up and take a few pictures.

She can sit up...for a second.

Well at least I tried for a group shot. I sure love these guys and the way they love each other (most of the time).

Sick and smiling

We had a pretty awful week during April. I believe it was Russ who started it all. He started throwing up and then one by one each of the big kids did and then one day Louise woke up from her nap and when I went in to get her there was yellow puke beside her head. This is her bath afterwards to get her all clean.

I couldn't believe how happy she was, and luckily she did not throw up again. It seemed to pass everyone pretty quickly but they didn't all get it the same day, so it was around for about a week. I was the only one who hadn't thrown up and felt like a ticking time bomb, but it never happened. And it was a good thing that I was well to take care of everyone else.

Easter 2014

The day before Easter we went to McCormick railroad park to meet with my extended Huston family. First things first, let the kids ride the train.
This may have been the only time Louise let anyone else hold her without crying. She was being extremely clingy.

Gracie's face in this picture cracks me up, she was so excited.

I see you! After the train ride they ran to play on the playgrounds while I ate and visited and tried to keep Lou happy. After awhile my siblings and their families came to our home for an Easter Egg Hunt. Look at those cute kiddos!

Trying to keep Louise happy

Joseph with his shorts on backwards (as usual).

Then we cleaned up and quickly headed over to Rex and Shaleigh's for the Christensen gathering.

He was trying to dodge the picture and it got all distorted. It got us laughing pretty hard. And then Uncle Don did a flip on the tramp and landed on the ground instead of the tramp. That didn't make us laugh.
As the night wore on Joseph got sick (again) at Rex and Shaleigh's (again). And because he was sick Sunday was a little hectic, but I did get a picture of Gracie's hair. And they did get Easter baskets where they got gum, chocolate eggs, a book, and bath colors. Joseph said, "you got just what we wanted." I am glad he is so easy to please.

Trying out the bath colors. Gracie said they were really tiny people in a giants soda.
