Comforts

I have been feeling really good lately. I got to go to the Temple on Friday and that was awesome. It is nice to have good friends to leave the kids with. The babysitting trade was the best idea. We were at the Temple with some of Russ' family and that was great. The temple always brings me comfort and peace. And this belly of mine keeps growing larger and larger. That is uncomfortable, but reassuring. He is moving a lot more, too. While listening to his heart beat he kept kicking the doppler, it was cute. Already he is so cute. Also at the appointment I talked with the midwife about how I had a kidney stone with Gracie's pregnancy and she told me that drinking straight lemon juice helps break them up. I thought the info was nice to know, but was not expecting to have kidney stones. A day or so later I started getting cramps in my legs . It got to the point where after just a minute of standing I was in quite a bit of pain. Russ gave me some stretches to do and they helped, but I was not looking forward to going up to girls camp and having to do these stretches all the time (I had to lay on my back). I realized that I needed to figure out how to get rid of them. Turns out they got rid of themselves. On Monday night after dinner was made and I had eaten, I sat down on the couch with my book to put my feet up. All of a sudden I felt a sharp familiar pain. I knew it was a kidney stone. I called Russ and told him to get home asap then went and juiced some lemons. I brought the kids in my bed with books so we could read while I drank the lemon juice. The pain was uncomfortable, but not unbearable yet. But from experience I knew where it could get. Soon Russ got home with some cranberry juice which I mixed with my lemon and kept on drinking. soon I had to go to the bathroom and when I looked in the toilet there was the stone about the size of a nerd. It all happened within an hours time. What a blessing! Since then the cramps in my legs have gone and I have a bottle of frozen lemon juice to take with me to camp just in case. I am so glad I had a basket of lemons and that I had that conversation with my midwife.

I have also been glad to see things getting done around our house. We are not close to done yet, but things are happening and that feels good. See the new counter tops under the plates? They are great. They are not all installed, but mostly and I love them. I am also taking comfort in knowing that I will probably be able to decorate most of my house with finds from 50% off Goodwill Saturdays. Slowly but surely my house will get decorated, every other Saturday at a time. I also got some great thrift items to take with me to camp - like new shoes. I love not spending a lot of money.

Sometimes I feel overwhelmed by life, but then I remember that things are working out and life goes on and I am happy.

Back yard wonders

Russ found a little snake while cleaning up the fallen palm trees in our back yard. Here is William imitating it's tongue movements (not trying to lick the snake). Gracie liked it, but didn't want to get too close.

In this picture she is in the middle of saying her classic, "ooooh, he so cute" phrase.
Still not sure how close she wants to be.
William showing Daddy the lizards tail he accidentally pulled off the other day while trying to catch him. That was quite the surprise to him.
I am sure glad the kids enjoyed the snake. I did not really care for it all that much:)

Don't worry, she'll give you the answer

Gracie came up to me with make up on her face. When I asked her if she was playing in my makeup she said, "do I look pretty?"
When I hessitated she said, "say yes!"
Of course.

Tooth-less

I noticed William was getting a space between some of his bottom teeth that was not there before. When I investigated I found that, yes there was a tooth coming in behind his baby tooth and his tooth was loose. It seems too early for this. After days of wiggling it Russ decided to try and get it out with floss. William was a really good sport about it.

After a few nights of doing that before bed it just popped out. I was in the room next to them when I heard them both gasp and then laugh. I guess is surprised them both.

Now on to the awkward phase of life with big sized teeth is a small sized head.
He was very excited to get some money under his pillow and insisted that we take him to DI to get a toy. He got a new Star Wars spaceship. He loves it. I love him and can't believe how big he is getting.

The great Dad's Day

I married such a great man.
He is such a great father. The kids and I love him so much. I love how he puckers his lips when he is shaving.

I love every part of him and feel like the luckiest girl in the world. My kids are pretty lucky too.
We did not do enough for him on fathers day this year. I don't know that we could ever do enough.

Our kitchen

This is what our kitchen looked like a couple weekends ago. It didn't look like this too long, but it still isn't all the way finished. I will wait until then to post a picture.
These are the replacement ikea cabinets all in pieces. I love Ikea, but all the assembling - ugh!

The big fat box in the middle is my new sink. I love my new sink.
So we have had a lot of work to do, but we are trying to still live and do other things besides fix up the house. That just means it will take longer, but taking the kids places, seeing family and friends, swimming, BBQ-ing are all important too. We have not forgotten.

Growing

Here are some pictures of my growing belly. It is time to take another one. Maybe I will remember to write it on my to-do list tomorrow. That is if I remember to make a to-do list tomorrow. I skipped the first couple months because I felt like you-know-what, and there wasn't anything to see anyway. April 15, 2010

So far, everything is good. I have pregnancy brain, I am tired all the time, and I waddle. Russ tells me I should stop and I tell him, "it feels better to walk that way!" My feet have started swelling a little if I stand too long and I have wonderful practice contractions (braxton hicks)all the time. I can feel this guy moving inside me all the time. He really gets going if I let myself get too hungry. I really do like pregnancy, but it is hard and I feel it getting a little harder as I am a little older each time. My children and my husband always kiss my tummy and I love it. We can't wait to know this little guy.

A 1st Bath

Mark and Ashley were going to give Sam his first bath so I grabbed my camera and started snapping pictures. I am putting them all up here for them. Isn't he the sweetest? I can't wait until I am bathing my baby boy.

Good practice

My kids are getting some good practice having their baby cousin around all the time. To them, everything he does is precious. William can not stop talking about his cheeks.

Look at how good William is at feeding him

What a good cousin.

No more single brothers

My little brother got married on May 28Th. Here are pictures from the event.
