The other day I had a lovely afternoon. The kids swam (see previous post) and then played while I cleaned my house. Then I let William and Gracie watch a movie in their room while the caterer for my in-laws 50th wedding anniversary came over to let me sample some cup cakes (such an inconvenience;).
They were very yummy and I was/am very relieved that we found an affordable caterer so I don't need to worry about food, decorations is enough for me. Speaking of decorations I made these yarned pots. Is yarned a word? Probably not, but anyway...
I was going to take pictures of me making one so you would know how to do it too.
This is as far as I got before I got distracted by extreme cuteness.
This kid loves a big ball of yarn.
Oh my goodness I want to eat him up! In fact I will...right now.
Okay I am back, it was delicious. Now these pictures...I love them.
Uh oh he threw it too far, now what is he going to do?
One hand down and reeeeeach.
Get fingers threw a couple strands of yarn.
Pull it on back.
I thought he was going to cry, looks like someone is getting more independent. Awesome. But I am not ready for mobility yet. Give me a few months boy.
The next thing I knew, I was done. So I use hot glue and the yarn around the base. Once that is in place I just wrap. I used more glue when I got to the rim where it gets bigger and then on the top. I really like how they turned out. What else can I yarn? A vase? A lamp? Gracie's legs? Okay no, but it really is pretty and easy. I sure hope all my ideas for the 50th come together nicely. We shall see.
