Finally

I went and got may hair done at the Curls Gone Wild salon in Gilbert. It was awesome. My hair has never looked like this dry before. I did not think my hair was ugly before, but now it is manageable. The biggest change is not how it looks to me, but how it feels. Before when I would wear my hair down after about an hour or two it was in a pony tail because it was huge and felt huge and smothering. Not anymore. This picture was taken a few hours after I got it done and as I was heading off for a (a very fun and very needed) girls night out.
Funny things about that picture: Josephs head looks huge (it doesn't just look huge - it is huge) and he is about to bust out of those overalls and it is the first time her ever wore them. First and last time.

These pictures were taken tonight (Sunday) after essentially doing nothing to it for the past couple of days. I put it up in a clip while I showered and then spritzed it a little and then ran off to church.
It turns out I am not very good at taking pictures of myself in the mirror.

I don't want to go into all the details of what it is I do with my hair but involves - no shampoo or sulfate free shampoo. I have not been using shampoo for over a year now - just baking soda and water, but I think I will stop that now because I have been taught that I can clean with conditioner, I just need to give my scalp and good message all over and rinse and my hair will be clean. It involves a lot of water and conditioner and gel with no silicone or alcohol. I learned everything form Melanie my hair dresser at the salon and from the book, Curly Girl. If you have curly, wavy, or frizzy hair - you need that book. It will be the best $13.95 you ever spend. Seriously, get it! If you don't have curly hair buy it for someone you know who does. It will be the best gift you can give.

I love knowing how to do my hair and I am sad that I have gone so much of my life not knowing how to do it. I am glad I will know how to teach my children to do their hair. I have also enjoyed the knowledge that has come along with this whole experience because they don't just tell you what to do, they tell you why. I like that. I like my hair. The end.

Cutting Teeth

So my little one is teething. Not fun for anyone. But not all that bad either since I have these

They are homeopathic, easy to use, Gracie loves them, and dut-du-du-duuuuh THEY WORK!

William had an ear ache and he is on amoxicillin and he loves it. It reminds me of being little and taking medicine out of one of these bad boys. I loved it too. I used to fill these up with water and pretend I was taking medicine.I should get one of these for the little guy, I bet he would love it.

Because sharing is caring

So someone shared with me and now I will share with you. For those who have not already heard there is an online make-up store that sells almost everything for a dollar.

That is right, everything that is pictured here is one dollar. And shipping is only 6.95 no matter how much you get. And right now if you order a certian product you can get shipping for $1.00 using the coupon code EGCLECN. Even if you don't use the coupon just order with some friends and split the shipping. That is what I did. By the way, friends, what did you think of the make-up? I like it. Okay lets be honest I love it because it is only a dollar and I think it is just as good as the stuff that I get in the grocery store. Now, if you usually use something like MAC it will probably not live up to your expectations, but otherwise I say go for it. And let me know if you are getting some becuase they just came out with this and I want to give it a try.
They have also come out with mineral make-up, but that is $5.00. I would also like to check that out. You should visit the site every once in awhile because they will have coupons like buy one get one 50% off. Could this get any cheaper? Anyway, you can find it all here.

Magic in a box

I have discovered magic in a box.
I was trying a homemade, more natural dishwashing deturgent and Russ was dying. It left a gross film and I probably could have lived with it longer than he did, but he hated it. He asked if I could please buy normal detergent. So I went to the store and usually I get the cheapest kind (remember, I'm cheap) but this time I thought that I would make Russ happy and get something that worked. I saw this box that said "no pre-wash needed". Well I HATE to pre-wash my dishes. What is that all about, "pre"wash. Why don't we just call it what it is, washing your dishes twice. Once with soap and once without.
I came home with this stuff and said to myself and Russ, "I am going to put this to the test. I let pans sit and dry with the food in it and I did not rinse it or even get it wet and guess what? It came out clean!!! I love it! I never rinse anything. Just think of all the water I am saving! As soon as I am done using something I just throw it in the dishwasher. No more stuff in the sink. Sometimes I catch Russ rinsing and have to run in and turn the water off and scold him.
This may not be a big deal to anyone else, maybe you all have been living the good life for quite some time now. But, if you have been like me trying to save a few bucks let me tell you now- It is NOT worth it. Go and get Cascade Complete.
